Minat dan Motivasi Terhadap Olahraga Tradisional Balogo di Kampung Ohoy Banjarbaru

Abstract

The goal of this research is to examine the community's interest and motivation in the traditional sport of Balogo in Kampung Ohoy Banjarbaru, as well as to determine the relationship between these two factors. The study uses a quantitative approach, with data collected using questionnaires distributed to 50 respondents. The descriptive analysis results suggest that the community's interest in Balogo has an average score of 47.24 with a standard deviation of 5.081, and motivation has an average score of 47.40 with a standard deviation of 5.462. Correlation analysis results indicate a strong and positive relationship between interest and motivation, with a correlation value of 0.848 and a significance level of 0.000. Interest has a substantial impact on motivation, according to the linear regression test. The regression coefficient is 0.912, and the t-value is 11.082. The data are normally distributed, according to the findings of the normalcy test, which guarantees that the analysis is reliable. Factors influencing interest and motivation in Balogo include cultural aspects, social environment, family support, and facility availability. Therefore, efforts from various parties, including the government and local communities, are needed to increase awareness and participation in preserving the traditional sport of Balogo through organizing tournaments, supplying suitable facilities and teaching people the value of preserving cultural assets.
