Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

JUDIKA (JURNAL PENDIDIKAN UNSIKA) is an interdisciplinary publication of original research and writing on education which publishes papers to international audiences of educational researchers. The JUDIKA aims to provide a forum for scholarly understanding of the field of education and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulated knowledge, values, and skills are transmitted from one generation to another; and to make methods and contents of evaluation and research in education available to teachers, administrators and research workers. The journal encompasses a variety of topics, including child development, curriculum, reading comprehension, philosophies of education and educational approaches, etc.

All papers submitted to the journal should not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The official language of the manuscript to be published in JUDIKA is English or Indonesia. 

  1. General Author Guidelines 

All manuscripts must be submitted to JUDIKA Editorial Office using Online Submission at E-Journal portal address:

https://journal-ets.unsika.ac.id/index.php/judika/about/submissions, where author register as Author by online. If authors have any problems on the online submission, please contact Editorial Office at the following email: journal.judika@unsika.ac.id

Manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines in the MS Word article template: download the template of the JUDIKA 

  1. Reviewing of manuscripts

Every submitted paper is independently reviewed by at least two peer-reviewers. The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation and made by Editor. If two or more reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors within three months of the submission date. 

  1. Revision of manuscripts

Manuscripts sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor without delay. Revised manuscripts can be sent to editorial office through the Online Submission Interface (https://journal-ets.unsika.ac.id/index.php/judika/index). The revised manuscripts returned later than three months will be considered as new submissions.

  1. Guideline for Online Submission

Author should first register as Author and is offered as Reviewer through the following address:

https://journal-ets.unsika.ac.id/index.php/judika/about/submissions

The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:

  1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of the journal, i.e. Original Research Articles, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, the author must check-mark on the submission checklists. An author should type or copy-paste Covering Letter in Letter to Editor.
  2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded. Do not upload cover letter and other supplementary files here.
  3. Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
  4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter, and Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement Form. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
  5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to JPI, click Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. 

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes a status of manuscript review and editorial process. 

  1. Author Fees

All articles published in the JUDIKA are published in full open access. In order to provide free access to readers and improve our journal management system and long-term archiving, an article processing charge (APC) applies to papers accepted in this journal. The APC in this journal is as follows: 0 USD (Foreign authors) or IDR 250.000 (Indonesian authors).

All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. 

  1. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Title page. The organization shown below should be followed (in the order given): a. Title of the paper (title case, 12 pt, Time New Roman, bold, centered); b. Author name(s) (Time New Roman, 12 pt); c. Author affiliation(s) (Time New Roman,10 pt); d. e-mail addresses of the corresponding author to whom the revision or galley proofs of the paper are to be sent (Time New Roman,10 pt).

Abstract. The abstract must be presented in English and Indonesian. It should summarize the main result(s) and, possibly, the method(s) used, in at most 250 words. If the paper is a survey paper, it must be indicated so in the abstract. For authors from outside Indonesia, the Indonesian abstract will be translated from the English abstract by the Editor.

Introduction (12 pt, bold). The Introduction presents the purpose of the studies reported and their relationship to earlier work in the field. It should not be an extensive review of the literature. Use only those references required to provide the most salient background to allow the readers to understand and evaluate the purpose and results of the present study without referring to previous publications on the topic.

Methods (12 pt, bold). The Methods sections should be brief, but they should include sufficient technical information to allow the experiments to be repeated by a qualified reader. Only new methods should be described in detail. Cite previously published procedures in References.

Results and Discussion (12 pt, bold). The Results should include the rationale or design of the experiments as well as the results of the experiments. Results can be presented in figures, tables, and text. The Discussion should be an interpretation of the results rather than a repetition of the Results.

Conclusion (12 pt, bold). The Conclusion should contain the confirmation of the problem that has been analyzed in result and discussion section.

Figures. If any, figures should be supplied in a form suitable for photographic reproduction after the printer has inserted any necessary lettering in the correct type. They should be printed or drawn in black ink on good white paper, at approximately the size that they will be printed.

References (12 pt, bold). The References section must include all relevant published works, and all listed references must be cited in the text. References should be written in the order of they appear in the text. Within the text, cite listed references use APA style, by their author last name and year (e.g., Husnussalam (2010))

Follow the styles shown in the examples below for books, specific chapters in books, and journal articles, respectively:

References to papers accepted for publication but not yet published should show the journal name, the probable year of publication (if known), and they should state "in press."
